What is Session Replay?

Session Replay reconstructs recorded visits so you can see how visitors interact with your website. Follow their navigation, clicks and scrolling to understand what happened around a confusing or unsuccessful visit.

Find the moment worth investigating.

Use recording filters and playback controls to narrow your search, jump between pages and skip inactive time while reviewing a visit.

Replays reflect the activity captured by your recording settings. Masking, consent, excluded pages, sampling and plan limits affect what is available to watch.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about playback, recording controls and coverage. For more detail, see our docs.
What does Session Replay record?

It captures website activity that can be reconstructed into a visual replay, including supported page changes, clicks and scrolling. It is not a recording of the visitor's desktop or camera.

How is it different from User Journeys?

User Journeys shows a timeline of tracked activity. Session Replay adds visual playback of a recorded visit, so you can explore the interaction itself.

Where do I find recordings?

Open Recordings in your site's analytics, choose a date range and select a visit to open the player. Access depends on your plan and feature availability.

Can I filter recordings?

Yes. Filters include pages, duration, clicks, scroll depth, rage clicks, U-turns, traffic sources and device details. Available analytics data also supports event and conversion filters.

Can I speed up playback?

Yes. Change playback speed, skip inactivity, move through the timeline or jump between recorded page views.

How do I control sensitive content?

Use the site's recording settings to configure masking and excluded pages. Review your setup before enabling recording, and configure consent for your site's requirements.

Will every visit be recorded?

Not necessarily. Recording must be enabled, and consent, sampling, excluded pages, technical coverage and monthly recording allowances affect which visits are captured.

How long are recordings available?

Availability depends on your plan's retention period. Recordings outside that period, or recordings that have been deleted, are no longer available to replay.
