Frequently asked questions

Quick answers on connection methods and supported data. For more detail, see our docs.
What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol is a way for an AI client to connect to external tools and data. Cromojo uses it to provide read-only access to supported website reports.

Which AI clients can I use?

Use a client that supports Cromojo's remote MCP connection and one of its supported authentication methods. Setup depends on the client; check the connection instructions before starting.

What can my assistant query?

Accessible sites, analytics overviews, attributed keyword revenue, indexing status, stored monitoring results and incidents, and account usage.

Can the assistant change my website or account?

The current MCP tools are read-only. They do not edit your website, change settings or submit indexing requests.

How do I connect?

Add the server endpoint in your compatible client and use the supported browser sign-in flow. A personal access token is available for clients that need token authentication.

Will the assistant see all my sites?

It can query the sites the authenticated account is allowed to view. It cannot use the connection to bypass site permissions.

Does asking about monitoring run a fresh check?

The tools return Cromojo's stored monitoring results and incident history. Freshness and coverage information help the assistant explain how current and complete those results are.

Can I disconnect an AI client?

Yes. Revoke its connected app or access token in your account settings. You can also disable MCP access for the account.
